Gelvin Ranch Phase I Environmental Site Assessment

Gelvin Ranch Phase 1 Environmental Assessment

    • Client:  The Nature Conservancy, Yuma County, Colorado
    • Date: October 2010 to November 2010
    • Project Type: Environmental Compliance
    • Info:  The landowner requested a Phase I Environmental Assessment due to developmental rights being transferred to The Nature Conservancy through a conservation easement.

  • Gelvin Ranch is a 920-acre working ranch located in eastern Yuma County, Colorado. Based on the results of the assessment, we determined the Gelvin Ranch property was free of environmental hazards and contamination. We observed a trash dump  near the western property boundary in an eroded drainage ditch. No evidence of contamination such as distressed vegetation and odors were observed.

  • Blue Mountain consulted with Environmental Data Resources Inc. of Milford, Conn., to obtain available environmental records data. This information helped identify recognizable environmental conditions on the surrounding the property.
